HOLA,
MY NAME IS MAYRA,
A VISUAL DESIGNER
LIVING IN SAN DIEGO.

I grew up in a small town in Mexico, surrounded by nature and a sense of freedom that made life feel limitless. The beauty of simplicity was everywhere—in the stillness of a morning, the colors of a sunset, the warmth of the people around me. That way of life shaped me, teaching me to cherish the little moments and instilling a belief that hard work, paired with kindness, can open doors to the most incredible opportunities.

Now, I call San Diego home, but the heart of that small town is still with me. I’ve brought my multicultural roots and those early lessons into everything I do as a visual designer and photographer. Every project I work on is a reflection of that—blending fresh perspectives with a deep sense of purpose.

Joining BASIC/DEPT a global agency, was a turning point in my career. Working alongside some of the most brilliant and creative minds in the industry stretched my boundaries and transformed the way I approach design. It underscored the immense power of design—not only in shaping brands but in influencing culture on a global scale. That realization continues to fuel my passion for creating work that matters.

But at the core of everything I do is connection—people, community, and the stories that bind us. For me, design goes beyond making something visually appealing. It’s about creating with intention and meaning, crafting something that resonates deeply with others and leaves a lasting mark. My ultimate goal is to design work that tells a story, sparks connection, and, in its own way, makes the world a bit more beautiful.
